The first Tawasul seminar focused on Human Rights approached State Budget Scrutiny for Media Professionals in order to empower them to accurately interpret the budget and inform the public. This workshop targeted chief editors, heads of local news and heads of the economic news section and local magazines. At the end of this workshop, participants gained better understanding of the state budget role and functions in development, as well as scrutiny and analysis skills.
It was conducted by Mr. Hamad Rashid Al Musharrafi, who worked as Head of the Studies and Research Department at the Majlis a’Shura and participated in reviewing the draft state budgets in the Majlis since 2006.
